What does it take to be one of the best high school runners in the country? What does it take to be an Olympian and an American record breaker? What does it take to be the coach of a champion?

Most importantly, what does it take to be a parent?

Like Father, Like Son is a feature documentary film profiling the life and times of coach, former distance running champion, two-time Olympian and father, Matt Centrowitz.

Based on the book Like Father, Like Son: My Story on Running, Coaching and Parenting, a 2017 memoir by Matt Centrowitz, and co-written with Nathan Williams and Chris Kwiatkowski, this film tells the story of Matt and Matthew Centrowitz through the lens of their relationship with running and with each other.

Witness the emotional journey as Matt watches his son Matthew win the gold medal in the 1,500-meters at the 2016 Rio Olympics, becoming the first American man to win the event since 1908. In Like Father, Like Son, Matt reflects on growing up without a father in the Bronx and how discovering track and field fundamentally saved and shaped his life.

We also get to see Matt's own elite running career, including competing in the 1976 Olympics and training under legendary coach Bill Dellinger at Oregon where he broke Steve Prefontaine's legendary school record. Matt details his coaching and parenting philosophies through this heartwarming film about the bonds we form as families and as runners.
